University of Papua New Guinea (UPNG) Has Updated Website.

University of Papua New Guinea (UPNG) has recently updated and  launched its new look website. UPNG has nil presence on web for quite a long time and  this a one of initiative taken by  the current administration to improve the aging ICT infrastructure at the University's main campus in Waigain. The website is is expected to rise the university's profile and offer vital information to students and general public.
UPNG has also assigned an five (5) agreement with Telikom to provide broadband internet access at the both the UPNG Waigani Campus and the UPNG Medical College campus at 3 mile in Port Moresby. Later, the network will be expanded five(5) of it's original study campuses for students who are who are studying through the UPNG Open College in distance mode.

University of Papua New Guinea (UPNG) Celebrates Golden Jubilee 50th Anniversary. 

The University of Papua New Guinea will celebrate it's Golden Jubilee Anniversary (1965-2015)  . The celebrations were initially planned  to take place in June/July but because of the PNG South Pacific Games, the activities have been scaled down.
A special Graduation Ceremony will be held in December 2015 to commemorate this event. 

To support the university the  Bank of Papua New Guinea    by printing a K2 and K5 mono-colored  Golden Jubilee Commemorative coins with the UPNG Commemorative logo on them. The country's largest postal and logistics company, Post PNG Limited  has also printed a special Stamp Edition of the UPNG Jubilee Commemoration.


Melanesian Institute (MI) Launched Its Online Bookshop

The Melanesian Institute an ecumenical research, teaching and publishing institution based in Goroka, in the Eastern Highland Province of Papua New Guinea has recently launched it's online bookshop. According to its website, the institution offers country orientation courses for Missionary Workers and workers from NGOs every year. The bookshop can be accessed through institution's main website http://www.mi.org.pg or direct to its  online book shop

This is great institute promoting social and cultural knowledge in Melanesian and PNG. They also have a Facebook page as well https://www.facebook.com/melanesianinstititue

  2. Yes. Most of the higher institutions do have websites but site update and maintenance is what most lack at the moment.
