Papua New Guinea National Open University (PNGNOU) Will Take First Intake in 2016

The Papua New Guinea National Open University will is set to take its first intake in 2016. This was according to a the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (HEST). The announcement was posted in the daily news papers (Post Courier) and The National) as part of the job description while an advertisement was put out for the position of Principal Consultant to lead the current working committee on PNGNOU.
The vision to establish the PNG National Open University was one of the key pillars on Human Resource Development in the 50 year country plan as the PNG VISION 2050 Plan. The current government has allocated 15 Million Kina to under this year (2014) National Budget.

The establishment of PNGNOU will make history come 2016 when it will operate as a full government funded university offering courses through Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode in the country.
